A bronze mirror with Aphrodite and Eros from Nicomedia in Bithynia (northwestern Turkey)

The Archeological and Ethnographical Museum of Kocaeli has in its collection a small, disc–shaped bronze mirror decorated with relief scene, whose protagonist is the goddess Aphrodite. scene shows Aphrodite seated left centre on rock. She accompanied by two figures, female who stands pedestal front her young son, Eros, behind her. This formerly unpublished object was found Nicomedia Bithynia, been dated to fourth century BC. paper will give detailed presentation focus art–historical contextualisation argue first date for this object.
